WTF IS GOING ON WITH THE POPCORN BUCKET- SCARY MOVIE 6

Scary Movie 6 Might Be The Comedy We All Need Right Now

From the iconic basketball scene clowning designer shoe culture, to the “my germs!” moment, to Neo’s aching back in the Matrix spoof — the Scary Movie franchise has always been completely ridiculous in the best way possible.

Honestly, before half of us even knew what being a “pothead” was, Scary Movie already had us laughing at wild smoke sessions, over-the-top paranoia, and outlandish characters that somehow felt unforgettable. It was one of those movies you quoted at school, repeated with your cousins, and laughed about years later.

And let’s be real — the franchise was never trying to look perfect.

Some of the effects were obviously fake. The fight scenes were absurd. The reactions were overacted. But somehow, that’s exactly what made the franchise untouchable. You can actually watch the evolution of comedy effects and parody filmmaking through these movies. The rough edges became part of the charm.

Then you had Brenda.

Brenda was loud, chaotic, completely out of pocket, and absolutely legendary. One minute she’s screaming, the next she’s threatening somebody, and the next she’s delivering one of the funniest lines in the entire franchise. Just don’t let her “fart in your face.”

And Shorty?

Come on now. Who else gets smoked by their own weed? Shorty became one of the defining comedy characters of the early 2000s stoner era. Half the audience probably still hears “run bitch runnnn!” in their heads anytime somebody mentions Scary Movie.

The franchise never cared who got roasted either. Michael Jackson jokes. Charlie Sheen appearances. Celebrity parodies. Horror movies. Politics. Nothing was off limits. That fearless, reckless comedy style is part of why the series became such a cult classic.

Now here we are in 2026, with Scary Movie 6 officially on the way, and honestly? We’re hyped.

The trailers already look chaotic, disrespectful, ridiculous, and completely self-aware — exactly how a Scary Movie film should feel. In an era where a lot of comedy feels overly safe or forced, this franchise reminds people that sometimes laughter is supposed to be dumb, shocking, random, and healing all at once.

And yes… we gotta talk about the “bong popcorn bucket.” ( Tap Pic Above to See The Advertisement )

After images exploded online, fans started believing theaters might actually sell a bong-shaped Scary Movie 6 popcorn bucket. Multiple entertainment outlets reported that the promotional images were real marketing material, but as of now, there is still no confirmed public release for theaters. Reports suggest Paramount used the images mainly as a promotional stunt, and no official AMC release has been announced yet.

So are the buckets real?

Technically… maybe.

But publicly available in theaters? Right now, nobody really knows.

We reached out to AMC Theatres and the official Scary Movie social pages ourselves, but haven’t received a response yet. To be fair, it’s only been about 10 hours since the major reports started circulating online. There’s still a chance we could see a limited release, giveaway, or online-exclusive collectible closer to launch day.

Either way, the internet already did what Scary Movie always does best:

Get people talking.

At the end of the day, franchises like Scary Movie matter because they remind people not to take life so seriously all the time. Sometimes healing is sitting in a packed theater with popcorn, laughing at jokes that are way too stupid to work — but somehow still do.

Opening Night Is Going To Be A Moment.

Stewart’s Passion will definitely be there supporting the franchise that helped shape so many hilarious childhood memories for our generation.

So let us ask you: Who’s your favorite Scary Movie character of all time?

And are YOU pulling up opening night for Scary Movie 6?
