Hooray for the Bluegrass State, or is it going to be a bitter journey through beurocracy and gate keepers? In this blog I'll go over what to do to see if you're eligible for a medical card in Kentucky! Getting a medical card sounds like an awesome experience. In many states though it is required that you surrender your rights to bare arms. We will touch on those issues another time, but remember that a card must be renewed EVERY 60 DAYS. To be eligible you need to have the following;
- Cancer
- Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease
- Epilepsy
- Intractable Seizures
- Parkinson's disease
- Crohn's disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Sickle Cell Anemia
- Severe and Chronic Pain
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Cachexia or Wasting Syndrome
- Neuropathies
- Severe Arthritis
- Hepatitis C
- Fibromyalgia
- Intractable Pain
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Huntington's Disease
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
- Glaucoma
- A terminal illness
There are definitely health care providers that will not conduct business at all with prescribing or recommending cannabis. Even when you do get the card peep this-
Patients with recommendations from doctors or advanced nurse practitioners could qualify to use cannabis if one was to suffer from one or more of the above conditions. Then they say smoking marijuana would be prohibited, vaporizing is totally fine, that's what you buy the raw flower for...vaporization! Patients could possess a 30-day supply of cannabis in their residence and a 10-day supply on their person. Cultivation is something we are going to have to keep pressing for because home cultivation will keep balance. Home cultivation is so danm important on every level! We have to accomplish this and make that an amendment or introduce a new KRS bill or however that works (COMMENT BELOW IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GET AMMENDMENTS and new doctrines). Home cultivation is what maintains balance between man & machine, farmer and mogul, government & man!
As for health care providers just ask for a recommendation for cannabis or wait till they start issuing out legit medical cards. As we just said in the last blog- the system to create and validate these cards do NOT exist yet!
