KISS MY GLASS - The Art of Glass and it's History

If you have been keeping up with our blogs you know that we have dived into a few ponds and oceans of craftiness in the culture of cannabis. The glass blowing is a segment I love more than I have really had a chance to show. I started the "Kiss My Glass" blogs so that I could start meeting different glass artists, learn more about the craft and show others how awesome glass art is! I myself do not blow glass, but I burn a fatty and watch a  few hours of it on YouTube from time to time!

Are you in search of a hobby, or have a friend that loves playing with fire? Consider getting into molding your own glass. You can always buy someone an ashtray, but making one and knowing that it will be used and passed on, is a charm all in itself! Glass blowing goes way back, it was the Roman's that established the 1st glass shop where items made of glass could be bought. Selling glass is profitable, and though you may not really think twice about what is involved with selling bongs, and paraphernalia be aware, actor Tommy Chong Served 9 months after he was arrested in a blurry operation known as "Operation Pipedreams".  That was 9 months in Federal Prison.

When you see todays nifty glass displays, do you think of  Bob Snodgrass? This is the man credited with bringing all sorts of new styles to the glass game, like "Fuming". Bob has been blowing glass for over 40 years and got his first torch in 1974. You may have heard of one of his students, James Baker! Baker has done custom pieces for many including Snoop Dogg & Adam Sandler.

Robert Mickelsen, Banjo Glass, and others have made careers out of bringing a thought- through the fire- and into reality! I believe that is what wow's me as well, the instant creation. It's kind of spiritual in a sense, but at the end, it's always dope as hell!

I did a blog on Special K Glass where we really dived into what it took to get Special K up & running. To know it's possible to make a sale.on glass and never have to work a predictable joe shmo schedule is inspiring.

I will highlight more glass blowers soon but wanted to share with the readers just how rewarding glass blowing can be. If you have a vision that itches your brain, go for it. Don't wait till the time is right, stand on what you know and learn as you go!

Perhaps one day I will have a give away for the future torch welders of our century!
