As JC aka Dr. Smoke recalls, "it was narly", electric bills back in the day for a grow op was, well.. Narly! It was in 2012 dabbling in music, going on tour, this is when Dr. Smokes got to see a plethora of cannabis. People would bring wild packs of different cultivars , "no name genetics" , then He seen a Cookies Bag. That's when branding 1st stood out. Touring with people like Peirce Le Veil, exposed him to a different kind of life, always looking out for bands making sure their safe and helped set things production wise when he could. This work ethic gave him respected headliner, after head liner. Coming from a family on construction income he naturally was instilled with that Iron work ethic. This lifestyle did wear in him, most of the year is sucked away by demanding tour schedules.
Before that life was fucking Narly, the 80's where wild. His dad was focused on the mom, so Dr. Smoke grew up on 9th, humbled by early exposure to urban obstacles, it was life in the hood. Even years later, lines get blurred, dudes doing Molly, and dealing with people's side line drama. The whole time, cannabis was the safest hustle.
Then in an instant in January if 2016, a fugitive in the rub, kicks in his door, put the 9 to his head. Things got out of hand, the unthinkable occurred, shot point blank in the head, he lay in a pool of his own blood, conscious but in a bliss. Confronting Death, seemed to be exciting for him.
This shooter was on methamphetamine, he actually left the house with valuables but was making trips back and forth, his lady slammed the door behind him, and locked it, saving Dr. Smoke from what detectives call, " A True Psychopath ".
Over half an hour or steady bleeding, witnessed by unseen energy, "I was narly, filet, opened up like a predator, I was existing outside of it, it was beautiful " At this point, he just observed the medics, the people, humans working together as one and it was beautiful.
it took skilled medics (Dr. Abraham) and surgery, he was able to prevail.
This stunning documentary touches just the tip of the ice burg on JC, Founder of Dr. Smoke.com Repeatedly JC refers to himself looking like the predator.
JC always loved cannabis so when the Farm Bill happened, he went to Iowa, it was a good vibe. Still dealing with nerve pain, only using cannabis to manage his pain, he try's to figure out a way to get his foot in the door. He already knew there would be a barrier to get in, so he worked with an extractor, he developed a full spectrum product and built his own brand. He did the whole grind wrapping the stuff up in the boxes and seen this chick putting putting "For Rent Sign" up. At this time people paid around $400 an ounce. JC opens a store and sold his product that was now protected by the Farm Bill.
The interest has evolved over time, JC capitalizes on Farm Bill, he knew THCA never got attention because you couldn't study it. This is the selling point. Hemp derived tinctures where the hustle pre Farm Bill, so after the Farm Bill passed the gloves came off.
As JC waited for the market to catch up, He had to go to banks for years, trying to fund his vision. His first shop he tried everything to process sales and do business with banks, it took a while but the came around once the Farm Bill Passed. Full Spectrum Oil was a ramped customers delight at a growing pace.
